We Showed Up. We Took Action. And We're Just Getting Started!

On May 20th, we drew a line in the sand.

From Washington D.C. to Los Angeles, Boston to Memphis, thousands of renters, homeowners, HUD recipients, and unhoused leaders took to the streets in 17 cities and the nation’s capital for a National Day of Action for Housing.

We showed decision-makers that we will not be silent while the ultra wealthy, Trump’s cronies, and corporate landlords slash affordable housing and profit off our pain.

🚨 We rallied. We marched. We delivered demands. We showed our power.

In D.C., we rallied with over 500 tenant leaders alongside national partners at Popular Democracy, People’s Action Institute, VOCAL-US, and National Homelessness Law Center — and we were joined by Reps. Delia Ramirez,  Rashida Talib, and Summer Lee who stood with us in demanding a stop to HUD cuts and a real investment in housing.

Across the country, RTTC members held bold actions — delivering letters to landlords, confronting state leaders, and lifting up real solutions like rent control and permanently affordable social housing.

This is only the beginning.

We’re building a powerful movement to take on billionaire greed and win the homes we all deserve. Because housing is not a commodity — it’s a human right.

Desde Washington D.C. hasta Los Ángeles, de Boston a Memphis, miles de inquilines, propietaries, beneficiaries de HUD y líderes sin hogar salieron a las calles en 17 ciudades y la capital del país para un Día Nacional de Acción por la Vivienda. Le demostramos a les tomadores de decisiones que no nos vamos a quedar callades mientras les ultra riques, compinches de Trump y los arrendadores corporativos recortan la vivienda asequible y se lucran de nuestro dolor.

En D.C., nos manifestamos con más de 500 líderes de inquilines junto a aliades nacionales en Popular Democracy, People’s Action Institute, VOCAL-US y National Homelessness Law Center —y se nos unieron les Representantes Delia Ramírez, Rashida Talib y Summer Lee quienes se levantaron junto a nosotres para exigir un alto a los recortes de HUD y una inversión real en la vivienda.

A través del país, miembros de RTTC sostuvieron acciones audaces — entregando cartas a arrendadores, haciéndole frente a les líderes estatales y destacando las soluciones reales como el control de alquileres y la vivienda social permanentemente asequible.

Este es solo el comienzo.

Estamos desarrollando un movimiento poderoso para atacar la codicia billonaria y ganar los hogares que todes nos merecemos. Porque la vivienda no es mercancía — es un derecho humano.
