Last night, several community violence intervention organizations from across the country joined with community based organizations, justice reform, and victims services groups to file a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to block the Trump Administration’s unlawful attempts to cut funding for CVI programs that are saving lives in our communities.
The organizations named in the lawsuit are Children and Youth Justice Center, Chinese for Affirmative Action, FORCE Detroit, Health Resources in Action and Vera Institute for Justice.
For those interested in learning more, the Community Violence Legal Network (CVLN) team is hosting a call with the Protect CVI campaign tonight.
