Dear neighbor,

In the middle of the night, Speaker Mike Johnson and President Donald Trump rammed through the largest cuts to health care in American history. I’m furious.

Before dawn, House Republicans heeded the President’s wishes and passed his big, ugly bill despite our intense opposition. Every single Democrat voted NO on cuts to health care and food assistance, but Republicans were desperate to please President Trump and pass his bill to slash Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to give tax breaks to billionaires.

This bill is going to make life more expensive for everyday Americans. Families who are already feeling the crush of indiscriminate tariffs and a weakening economy are going to suffer. I want you to know that House Democrats fought like hell to stop this by shining light on House Republicans’ clandestine meetings and offering over 500 amendments to delay the bill.

The fight is not over. We’ll continue to listen to the American people who feel betrayed. We will continue to fight for lower costs for goods, groceries, and healthcare.
