Friends, it’s almost hard to believe.

Many of the same Republicans who voted for the budget earlier this morning have promised their constituents they would not cut Medicaid.

Trump went directly to the House GOP earlier this week, and he told them in no uncertain terms not to mess with Medicaid.

And you know what’s in the budget they just passed? Massive cuts to Medicaid and food assistance.

Millions of people are projected to lose their health care, hospitals will close, and families will go without groceries if this bill passes.

Honestly, I have never seen anything like it.

I came to the United States Senate to fight for the people of my state. Two million Arizonans are on Medicaid, and hundreds of thousands of them will lose their coverage if this budget passes. Millions more around the country will lose it, too.

Now’s the time we earn our pay. I’m going to do what Arizona sent me to the Senate to do and work to stop this budget. And I’m going to continue traveling the country and speaking to anyone who will listen about the damage Trump and the GOP are trying to do to our country.
