President Trump and his Republican conspirators in Congress just pushed through a budget that slashes $880 billion from Medicaid , threatening healthcare access for working families and people with disabilities. The bill also cuts $300 billion in assistance to buy groceries through SNAP, taking food away from children, seniors, and working families.

1.4 million Oregonians depend on the Oregon Health Plan. 775,000 Oregonians rely on SNAP to put food on the table. But these aren’t just numbers to me. These are real people who will go hungry or choose not to go to a doctor when they’re sick. All to fund tax breaks for the extremely wealthy.

I’ve joined my fellow Democratic Governors around the country to speak out against the gutting of these critical programs — and now I hope you’ll join us.
