For almost 30 hours, House Democrats stood united and fought against the Republicans’ Bad Billionaire's Budget—a cruel and corrupt giveaway to the wealthy that will devastate working families.

Early this morning, Republicans passed what amounts to the largest transfer of wealth from the working and middle class to the ultra-rich in American history.

And how did they finally get enough of their own members to support this mess of a bill?

By making it even worse with their last-minute 40-page amendment, which includes:

• More Americans thrown off their health care.
• National abortion restrictions hidden in the fine print.
• More backroom deals and concessions to the most conservative House Republicans.

What’s Really in the Bill?

During the Rules Committee hearing, I asked the Chair to read his own bill out loud. He refused. Because if the American people heard what was really in this bill, they’d be outraged. And they should be.

This bill:

• Kicks nearly 14 million Americans off their health care by slashing Medicaid and sabotaging the ACA.
• Triggers a $500 billion Medicare cut that will hurt seniors across the country.
• Takes food assistance away from hungry kids with a $300 billion cut to SNAP.
• Raises premiums for millions on the ACA and piles on paperwork for Medicaid, making it harder to access coverage.
• Blocks insurance from covering abortion care and tries to sneak in yet another national abortion ban.
• Repeals clean energy incentives that lower costs and fight climate change.
• Cuts funding rural hospitals and clinics depend on, putting nearly 200 rural hospitals at risk of closing in states across the country.
• It even lets Republicans raise your taxes without the required 3/5ths vote while cutting them for billionaires like Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

They even tried to sneak in a tax break for tanning beds—until we called them out for subsidizing Trump’s tan.
