Our endorsed candidate Erica Deuso JUST WON the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Downingtown, PA with about 62% of the vote!!!! This brings Downingtown one step closer to electing Pennsylvania’s first openly trans Mayor!

Erica was running against a primary opponent who was transphobic and proudly called himself a white nationalist. We couldn’t be more thrilled – and encouraged about the message this sends to all of the future women and LGBTQ+ leaders in Erica’s community, the state of PA, and our country as a whole.

Erica is running a historic and potentially glass-ceiling-shattering campaign.

This November, Erica will be facing off against Republican Richard Bryant, a far-right extremist and unapologetic Trump supporter. He uses his online platform to spew misogyny, anti-trans rhetoric, and racist commentary. Additionally, he is known to mock women for their appearance, attack the LGBTQ+ community, and spread harmful lies about climate change and immigrants. He advocates for violence, promotes mass deportation, and supports banning books and suppressing votes. As Erica’s campaign has stated, “This isn’t political disagreement—this is dangerous, dehumanizing extremism.”
