Hey team,
I want to fill you in on something.
One of the key parts of my role at the NDRC is reviewing our grassroots fundraising numbers to gauge how strongly we can invest in fighting back against the Trump administration’s attacks on democracy.
I’m so proud of this team. For the first few months of this year, supporters like you have stepped up and helped power wins across the country. From staving off a baseless attempt to throw out ballots and overturn a free and fair election in North Carolina to defending our pro-democracy majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, even up against a blank check from Elon Musk. Together, we’ve held the line amid a galling assault on our democracy.
The truth is, we’ve started to see a decline in our fundraising numbers over the past few weeks. I get it — not everyone is able to contribute every time it’s needed. And I’m so thankful for every donation that comes in, especially these days.
But taking our foot off the gas right now could have a serious impact on our ability to keep up our momentum. You might not hear about it in the news, but 2025 is an election year with key state-level races up for grabs. And the fair maps movement is working in several states as I write this to stop efforts to weaken our democracy and people’s rights to equal representation.
I’ve seen this team rise to the occasion when it matters most. Will you step up today by making a donation to help us get back on track? [[link removed]]

Here’s the big reason I’ve been so nervously checking our grassroots fundraising numbers. We have a slate of nail-biting races on the ballot, where the outcomes could affect our work for years to come, including…
* Pennsylvania: Republicans are looking to overturn our pro-democracy majority in the state’s critical supreme court elections.
* Virginia: In November, voters will head to the polls in what’s shaping up to be an ultra-competitive gubernatorial race and state legislative election.
* Michigan: A very important special election to fill the vacant state senate seat in Michigan’s 35th District.
The stakes in these fights are too high for the NDRC to stay on the sidelines.
So I’m asking you to make a contribution to ensure we can fully fund our efforts to elect more pro-democracy champions and keep fighting for fair representation in every corner of the country. [[link removed]]
Thanks so much,
Brianna

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
