Gavin Newsom is termed out in 2026, which means that California will have to elect someone new as governor next year.
California’s next governor will have to take on big challenges, including a decades-long housing crisis and federal attacks on our health care. She will not only have to take action to bring down the cost of living; she’ll also have to go toe-to-toe with a hostile White House to defend our state.
California needs a fighter, and I have a track record of taking on the Trump administration to deliver for Californians. In the early days of the pandemic, when we had few tools to address the crisis, it was my questioning of Trump’s CDC official that secured free COVID testing for all Americans regardless of insurance.
Next year, Californians will face a choice of who can best represent them in Sacramento and in the national conversation. With our incumbent governor termed out, this race is wide open.
Thanks,
Katie
