Meanwhile, in Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu is further escalating a devastating war, abandoning the hostages still held captive by Hamas and trying to use desperately-needed humanitarian aid as a bargaining chip.
In response, J Street is keeping our foot on the gas – to echo the voices of the majority of Israelis who want to see the hostages come home and the war end – by strengthening our pro-democracy advocacy on Capitol Hill, on college campuses and in communities across the country:
- We're working with pro-peace, pro-democracy lawmakers to keep up the pressure on Trump and Netanyahu -- most recently organizing nearly 100 Members of Congress to sign a letter demanding Israel lift the full blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza
- We’re taking a bold stand against the assault on higher education through our campus arm, J Street U – with one of our Tufts University student leaders testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee about her experience as a Jewish college student in today’s fraught landscape – making clear that the Trump Administration does not speak for us as they use antisemitism as pretext for authoritarianism.
- We’re deep in the fight to end the MAGA majorities in Congress by supporting vulnerable J Street champions in tough bids for re-election, as well as strong challenger candidates who have what it takes to win the most competitive races on the map.
