Rising Democratic Star Funds Abortion through Forgotten Obamacare Loophole |
by Ben Johnson |
A rising Democratic star, often touted as "the next Obama" and a potential 2028 presidential candidate, has tapped into a long-forgotten provision of Obamacare to fund abortion, including underwriting abortions for illegal immigrants. With Republicans in Washington threatening to squeeze federal funding for abortionists, multiple states may choose to exploit the same funding mechanism - an abortion-expanding loophole which pro-life organizations, including Family Research Council, have long flagged as problematic. |

Sustaining the Consensus against Violent Social Change |
by Chuck Donovan |
On the eve of the release of expected policy recommendations on IVF from the Trump administration, the choice is not merely between massive public funding of this practice or endorsement of the Guy Bartkuses of the world. The choice is between rational, principled, public debate and a collapse into governing by fear, intimidation, or neglect. |

by Dan Hart |
Following a two-hour phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Trump Monday, reports indicated that no progress was made in getting Putin to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. Experts say there is little hope for a positive outcome for Ukraine due to a lack of negotiating leverage at Trump's disposal and Putin's single-minded "obsession" with restoring Russia's former empire. |

Trump Admin. Frees Nation's Largest Christian College from Biden's $37.7M Fine |
by Sarah Holliday |
Thanks to the Trump administration's Department of Education, the nation's largest Christian college has been freed from a massive $37.7 million fine. In 2023, the Biden administration accused Grand Canyon University (GCU) of misleading doctoral students about program costs, swiftly imposing the hefty fine. Then-Education Secretary Miguel Cardona openly criticized GCU, stating he was "cracking down not only to shut them down, but to send a message to not prey on students." |

UK Assisted Suicide Bill Continues to Face Vigorous Opposition |
by Chuck Donovan |
The furor over a landmark bill legalizing assisted suicide in the United Kingdom is growing more acute day by day. Originally scheduled to proceed to a near-final vote in the House of Commons on April 25, resistance to the measure continues to build so that final passage now seems far from assured. Meanwhile, news stories about assisted suicide in Canada and the United States show that Britain is not the only locus of historic debates over the future of a practice that confronts a foundational principle of Hippocratic medicine - "First, Do No Harm." |

Nevada's Assisted Suicide Bill Stalls, but Dems Say They'll 'Keep Pressing Forward' |
by Sarah Holliday |
While states like New York are actively advancing assisted suicide legislation, Republicans in Nevada are working hard to quash any such effort. On Friday, the Nevada Legislature put the brakes on a controversial bill, Assembly Bill 346, that would have legalized physician-assisted suicide for terminally ill, mentally competent adults with six months or less to live. Before it was shelved, the legislation already had a rocky journey. |

Totalitarian Social Engineering (Part 2): Organizational Economics |
by Yoe Suarez |
Christianity is not about passing the buck to the State when it comes to caring for the needy. Christian charity, however voluntary and sincere, is distinct from the obligatory and impersonal mandates of authorities. Socialists, to justify themselves, love to cite biblical passages where they believe they warn of calls to class struggle. They use as examples the expulsion of the merchants from the Temple and Jesus's comment that a camel will pass through the eye of a needle before a rich man enters heaven. |
