John,New York City is losing its middle class. The affordability crisis has left two-thirds of New Yorkers without jobs that provide a liveable wage.

We really need a Mayor who will make New York a city that works for workers, small businesses, and the middle class.

Far too few New Yorkers have access to good jobs: year-round, full-time jobs that pay a living wage, provide benefits, and guarantee a safe work environment.

That’s why yesterday, I unveiled my new plan to grow jobs and tackle our city’s affordability crisis.

As Mayor, I will ensure New Yorkers have access to good jobs — not low-wage, insecure ones. My plan, "A City That Works," [[link removed]] will build a city where working families can thrive and diverse entrepreneurs can grow successful businesses.

Together, we will:

* Create more stable, well-paying jobs in tech, green energy, health care, creative industries, and manufacturing
* Expand career pathways for youth, mid-career workers, NYCHA residents, veterans, and people with disabilities
* Strengthen small businesses through real-time support, fewer fines, and fairer regulations
* Increase wages and protections for human services workers and other essential sectors
* Provide more support for diverse entrepreneurs, including Black, Latino, and veteran-owned businesses
* Strengthen community hiring enforcement and fairer access to public contracts
* Stabilize commercial rents to help neighborhood businesses stay and grow

John, I have a long record of fighting for working New Yorkers.

As a City Council Member, I worked closely with neighborhood artists, workers, and public housing residents as part of the Gowanus rezoning, which resulted in creating light industrial and mixed-use space, including over 100 affordable housing artist studios as well as more than 8,500 housing units.

As Comptroller, I shed light on the hiring and retention issues in city government that emerged in the pandemic and made recommendations to overcome these challenges.

And I was the very first mayoral candidate in this race to release a comprehensive workers’ rights platform [[link removed]] to ensure that all workplaces in New York City provide the protections, security, and benefits people need to thrive.

I will be a Mayor who fights for good jobs and a more affordable New York City for all of us. If you’d like to learn more, you can read my full plan here [[link removed]] .

Thank you,

Brad
