Last week, House Democrats and I fought all night against Trump’s proposed budget that guts Medicaid and food assistance programs in order to pay for tax breaks for ultra-wealthy Americans.

Last night, the House Rules Committee started their meeting in the middle of the night to make changes to the bill before it hits the House floor, and the meeting is still ongoing.

Why do they keep meeting in the middle of the night?

Because they want to leave the American people in the dark when it comes to their plans to take health care away from 8.6 million Americans to fund tax breaks for their billionaire friends.

I have a target on my back because I’m willing to stand up for the American people. Republicans are going to keep coming after me because they think their attacks are effective, but I won’t back down. I am continuing to do everything I can in Congress to protect health care and food assistance programs.

Right now, we need to hold GOP House members accountable for their questionable midnight meetings and plans to gut Medicaid.
