Right now, U.S. House Republicans are trying to pass massive tax cuts for the rich and make the most vulnerable Americans pay for it -- and they could vote as soon as tomorrow.

Their heinous budget bill would rip health insurance away from 13 million people. It would raise the cost of electricity and cut nutrition assistance programs by nearly 30% -- the largest cut to the program in history. (1) And it would gut Medicaid, which funds MediCal -- a program 2 in 5 Californians depend on.(2)

All of this cruelty would serve Donald Trump and his billionaire friends with tax breaks worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.(3)

Enough is enough. As Congressional Republicans champion huge giveaways to the ultra-wealthy, we’re promoting a different vision: the People’s Promise.

Will you sign on to the People’s Promise, calling for the wealthiest to pay their fair share of taxes and an economy that works for every American?

There’s no sugar coating it: Donald Trump’s first 100 days have been a nightmare. He’s attacked our rights, dismantled life-saving government services, raised prices on ordinary Americans, and threatened the world economy -- all to line his own pockets and those of his rich cronies.

And now, MAGA Republicans in Congress are trying to curry favor with him with even more destruction: a monstrous budget reconciliation bill that slashes Medicaid, food assistance for the hungry, clean energy programs and more.

People who are leading quiet lives are being deported to prison in El Salvador or to detention centers hundreds of miles from where they live.

Now’s the time for us to speak out. We’re demanding every elected official -- from Trump to Congress to City Hall -- make the People’s Promise.

That includes an economy the works for everyone: all workers earn a livable wage and have the right to unionize. Americans can afford essentials like quality healthcare, housing, and childcare.

The promise means a government for the people: the wealthiest among us pay their fair share in taxes. Every child can count on the quality education they deserve, and every person has access to a strong safety net they can count on when they need it.

These aren’t radical demands -- they’re the bare minimum. It’s time for elected leaders to deliver.

Demand elected officials from Congress to City Hall make the People’s Promise -- for an economy that works for every American and ensures the wealthiest pay their fair share of taxes.
