John,
When I was working as a pediatrician, I often felt like my hands were tied. Countless families in our communities, families that I grew up with, were struggling. Prescription drug prices were out of control. Poor wages meant that families couldn’t afford treatments, and there were limits to what I could do as a doctor. So I ran for public office.
I ran to advocate for those in our community that have been left behind for too long, and I won.
As a Congresswoman I passed legislation lowering the costs of prescription drugs. I worked on a bipartisan bill to fight the fentanyl epidemic in our country. I made a difference in countless lives, but there’s a lot more work to do.
