Hello John,
I hope you're keeping well.
This National Volunteering Week, we're excited to share Starting Out 2.0 ([link removed]) - the updated and improved resource to support you in training and supporting volunteers in your youth work service.
Visit Starting Out Hub >> ([link removed])
Starting Out 2.0 ([link removed]) is a practical framework designed for anyone who delivers induction or follow-up training to volunteers, which has been updated to reflect the feedback received from the sector.
It gives you clear guidance on what to cover, with a strong focus on learning outcomes - not rigid checklists - so you can adapt it to suit your organisation and the needs of your volunteers.

Why offer volunteer training?
Good training helps volunteers feel confident, motivated and ready to make a difference.
* Induction training gives new volunteers time to think about why they want to work with young people – and introduces them to the values and purpose of youth work.
* Follow-up training builds on this by helping volunteers grow their skills, knowledge and confidence over time.
* When you invest time in your volunteers from the start, everyone benefits – the young people, the volunteers, your organisation and the wider community.
We hope you find this new resource useful, and if you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.
All the best,
Alison
