During this year’s Annual General Meeting, Wendy’s shareholders will be presented with a proposal requesting that the Board evaluate how worker-driven social responsibility, which includes programs like the Fair Food Program, might secure its supply chain and protect it from modern-day slavery, child labor, sexual assault, and other abuses.
Unlike Wendy’s current unenforceable Supplier Code of Conduct, the Fair Food Program is proven effective in preventing these human rights risks, through real enforcement mechanisms. I look forward to the day when Wendy’s prioritizes these concerns. Until then, I will be joining the hundreds of thousands of consumers boycotting Wendy’s.”
