I hope you’ll agree with me that every voter needs to know not only who the candidates are on their ballot, but what those candidates stand for and hope to achieve if they win.
Ballotpedia's job is to make sure that when election day comes, every voter has a trusted resource with comprehensive information that they can use to understand their candidates as both politicians and as people.
Why does comprehensive information matter? Because 99% (500,000 of the 518,000) of elected officials are local.
But increasingly, voters are running out of independent, trusted sources of information that can tell them more about these candidates than just their names and the offices they want to hold.
