We must save historic climate and clean energy investments

As soon as this week, the House of Representatives could vote on President Trump and congressional Republicans’ signature legislation—the one we’ve been raising the alarm about that would give billionaires and corporate polluters trillions of dollars in tax breaks.

This is an extremely serious attack that could kneecap all the climate and clean energy progress we’ve made while hurting millions of working Americans across the country.

To fight back, we’re joining with Americans for Tax Progress, Public Citizen, and more for a national call-in day TODAY to light up the phone lines and make sure our representatives know we want them to sink this bill. Here’s what else is at stake if this bill passes:

Working Americans nationwide could lose access to popular clean energy programs that save us money on electricity costs and create good-paying jobs.

Clean Air Act standards that limit the amount of pollution from cars and trucks could get rolled back, making the air we breathe less safe.

Millions of Americans could lose access to healthcare and programs that help put food on the table for their families, if programs like Medicaid and SNAP get slashed.

And, unfortunately, so much more.

The good news is that we’ve already seen some splintering among Republicans during the committee stages of the bill, which means they have a slim majority and very little room for error to make their plan work. That’s why we need to put pressure on House Members NOW to vote NO. ([link removed])

It may feel intimidating to get on the phone, but every call you make matters and is closely tracked by Congressional offices. If your representative is a Republican or on the fence, it can give them the push they need to vote for their constituents’ interests.
