A deep, sustained, and year-round effort is needed to counteract the powerful forces of white supremacy and segregation that are still at play across the South.

Team, decades of progress are at risk in Mississippi and across the South:

Justice Department Could End School Desegregation Orders Across the South, Potentially Affecting 30 Mississippi Districts— Mississippi Free Press

Unsurprisingly, in school districts where desegregation orders were lifted, there has been a greater increase in racial segregation than in those still under court orders.

Ending desegregation orders would be devastating for Mississippi kids. Every child deserves a top-notch education, regardless of ability, identification, race, or zip code.

Groundwork Project stands for civil rights and education for all, and we are bringing resources to organizers fighting on the frontlines of these issues.

Our partners are continuing the South’s historic tradition of organizing and advocacy, but more resources are needed to overcome generations of racial disenfranchisement and build equitable power for all students and residents.

Will you stand with us and support our partners’ important work?
