John,
After a late-night House Budget Committee vote last night, congressional Republicans appear to be on track to vote on their disastrous budget bill this week, before Memorial Day weekend. They may be closer to bringing the bill to the floor because of promises to the right wing to cut Medicaid even more deeply.
We’re fighting back, organizing an emergency virtual rally with our allies, tonight at 7:30pm ET. I’ll be making remarks and we’ll hear from Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden.
Click here to RSVP for tonight’s virtual rally to learn what you can do to help fight back against this bill that steals health care and nutrition from vulnerable people in order to finance more tax breaks for billionaires.
RSVP
Join us tonight, Monday, May 19th from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM ET/4:30 PM - 5:30 PM PT, where we will:
-
Get briefed by experts on why this bill is so harmful.
-
Use our collective voices to pressure members to VOTE NO in the House at a critical moment before the floor vote.
-
Galvanize grassroots volunteers and mobilize activists nationwide to join our national call-in day tomorrow: Tuesday, May 20th.
Together, we’re demanding a budget that prioritizes vulnerable people, not more tax breaks for the rich and corporations.
Thank you,
Deborah Weinstein
