Dear John, I’m Ruth Messinger — former City Council Member, Manhattan Borough President, and former Democratic nominee for Mayor. New York City is at a turning point. In this year’s mayoral election, we will cast our ballots in a race that will determine our city’s future. We must all come together to elect a leader who is honest, effective, and has the experience and vision to lead us through the challenges our city is sure to face in the coming years. Not only that, but the next mayor of New York will command a city of almost 9 million people with a budget of over $100 billion. John, as the proud mother of 3 children, grandmother of 8, and great-grandmother of 5, I don’t take this election lightly. I know that the results of this election will impact our city for generations to come. And I truly believe that Brad Lander is the candidate with the knowledge and record to take on this administration and build a New York City that works for all of us.
