One person your gift today can help is Patrick, a father of three in
Ohio. He was building a career in acupuncture when a medical condition
made it impossible to continue. With bills piling up and three kids to
feed, Patrick made a bold decision to go back to school while
parenting full time during the day.
His family relies on SNAP to stay afloat. And at times, when food was
tight, Patrick skipped meals so his kids could eat:
"Without SNAP, I would skip meals pretty consistently. The food
was for them," he said. "[Now, my kids are] not going
hungry. ... And my 3-year-old is big enough to open up the fridge
now and get whatever he wants out of it, and it actually is there. So
that's a very nice feeling."
