Dear A.,

In an interview this morning, White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff
[link removed]
said that the "red line" for the United States in nuclear negotiations with Iran is ending the regime's uranium enrichment capability:

"We have one very, very clear red line, and that is enrichment. We cannot allow even 1% of an enrichment capability...

"We want to get to a solution here. And we think that we will be able to. But everything begins... with a deal that does not include enrichment. We cannot have that. Because enrichment enables weaponization, and we will not allow a bomb to get here."

This is a critical reaffirmation of the Trump administration's stated position, backed up by a letter from over 80% of Republicans in Congress last week, that Iran's nuclear program must be totally dismantled.

Witkoff's statement follows an announcement from President Trump on Friday that the U.S. has transmitted to Iran a proposal for a nuclear agreement,

saying , "They have a proposal. More importantly, they know they have to move quickly or something bad - something bad is going to happen."

AIPAC supports time-bound talks to achieve the Trump administration’s stated goal of verifiably and permanently dismantling Iran’s nuclear program.

To be effective, these talks must be coupled with continued maximum economic pressure and a credible threat of military force.

Israeli Security Cabinet approves resumption of Gaza aid after IDF launches major ground operation

The Israeli Security Cabinet

decided today to immediately resume the transfer of humanitarian aid to Gaza through existing channels until the new humanitarian aid mechanism under development is operational, according to Axios.

The resumption of aid deliveries through the existing channels is

reportedly a "temporary measure" that will last for about a week until the new aid distribution centers in Gaza are up and running.

Israel and the United States have been working on developing a new aid mechanism, facilitated via the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, that will help ensure aid intended for Gazans is not stolen by Hamas to fuel its terror operations.

Meanwhile, late Friday, the IDF

launched Operation Gideon’s Chariots, a major ground operation in Gaza that will seek to "seize strategic areas" of the enclave.

The IDF said in a statement that it had "launched extensive attacks and mobilized forces… to achieve all the goals of the war in Gaza, including the release of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas."

Prime Minister Netanyahu

said in a video message today: "We’ve launched a massive campaign against Hamas… IDF forces are pushing powerfully into the Gaza Strip with a dual objective: the defeat of Hamas and the release of our hostages — two goals that are intertwined, and we will achieve both."

The United States must continue to stand with Israel for as long as it takes to free all 58 remaining hostages, including 4 Americans, and drive Hamas from power in Gaza.

Gazans increasingly protesting against Hamas
The Wall Street Journal

reports that Hamas in Gaza is "wrestling with the most visible internal challenge to its authority since it seized control of the Gaza strip in 2007: the people it professes to represent."

"Hamas has ruled harshly, often jailing and killing its critics or threatening them into silence. Yet a simmering, continuing resistance has added to the pressure on Hamas, especially in northern Gaza, where the town of Beit Lahiya is the epicenter of anti-Hamas protests that began in March," the report continues.

Gazans are increasingly protesting against Hamas due to its continuation of the war and the belief that the terror group prioritizes its own survival over Gazans' welfare.

Many protesters have chanted "Hamas out," calling for Hamas to give up control of the enclave.
