Marlena works two jobs, but it is still challenging for her to provide enough food for her five children. The situation is even more difficult during the summer, when her kids don’t have access to school meals.

Many families in Marlena’s rural, Indigenous community struggle with the same challenges due to the high cost of food. But starting last year, we helped these families receive SUN Bucks through the Summer EBT program, offsetting the cost of groceries for parents and helping children in the community thrive.

In my work, I see every day how critical supporters are to making stories like Marlena’s possible. And moments like Giving Day are when we can make the most impact together.
