Hey, I wanted to take a second to email you before I take the debate stage tonight.

This is a big moment for our campaign — it’s the last debate of the primary election, which means it’s one of the last opportunities we have to make our case directly to the people of New Jersey as they make up their minds.

Listen, I know televised debates are not always the thoughtful policy discussions we wish they were. Especially this close to Election Day, sometimes substance gets overshadowed by the desire for a viral soundbite or a quippy attack. But honestly, those kinds of political games have never appealed to me.

Tonight, my plan is to speak directly to the people of New Jersey about my vision for our future.

I’m going to talk about my plans to make life easier and more affordable for New Jersey families — by lowering the cost of housing, energy, and groceries, and by improving access to high-quality health care and child care.

I’m going to talk about how we can finally bring reliable, affordable transportation to our state.

And I’m going to talk about how, if we defeat Trump’s handpicked candidate in New Jersey this year, that will give us a great deal more power to fight back against his attacks on our families.

So, I hope you’ll tune in at 7 P.M. tonight to hear me make my case.
