John,
Republicans in Congress are pushing a radical budget plan that would slash $880 billion from Medicaid over the next decade. It’s a calculated attack on children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low-wage workers who rely on Medicaid to survive.
Their plan includes so-called “work requirements” designed to do exactly what they did in Arkansas, kick people off their health care. Over 18,000 people lost coverage in less than a year when Arkansas tried this reckless experiment. Did employment go up? No. But people got sicker, fell into debt, and delayed life-saving treatment.
Now Republicans want to take that failure nationwide.
The majority of adult Medicaid recipients are already working, caregiving, or living with health conditions that prevent them from working. But facts don’t matter to these extremists. Their agenda isn’t about personal responsibility, it’s about ripping health care away from people who need it most, all while lying to the public about it.
Over 80 million Americans depend on Medicaid. Demand Congress keep their hands off Medicaid, no cuts, no restrictions, no exceptions.
We’ve seen this playbook before: attack the poor, blame the vulnerable, and sell it as “reform.” It’s a lie. Medicaid is a lifeline. It covers nursing home care for seniors, health services for children with disabilities, and treatment for low-income workers balancing multiple jobs just to afford basic needs like insulin.
No one should be forced to choose between getting sick and going broke. No one should have to jump through bureaucratic hoops just to stay alive.
We need a tidal wave of public pressure to drown out the lies and stop this assault on health care.
Congress must hear us loud and clear keep your hands off Medicaid.
Together, we can protect health care for millions.
