the past week!

Elise Leads Legislation for School Choice via Tax Incentives

This week, Elise proposed legislation to expand school choice by way of tax
incentives. The "Educational Choice for Children Act" offers a 75% federal tax
credit for donations to organizations funding scholarships for K-12 students to
attend private or religious schools. The bill is being cosponsored by Rep. Jim
Jordan, R-Ohio, Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, Rep. Adrian Smith, R-Neb.

Elise stated —

“New York elected Democrat’s near universal opposition to school choice has
left our students trapped in a failing system. Despite spending more than any
state in the nation per student —New York’s schools continue to underperform
with rampant absenteeism and failing outcomes. It’s time to give every child
the chance to reach their full potential.”

Rep. Adrian Smith stated —

“Every child in America deserves a quality education and the Educational
Choice for Children Act is our best opportunity to ensure every parent can
enroll their child in the school which best meets their needs. I am grateful
ECCA is included in the House tax package and that it has the support of so
many leaders across the House Republican Conference.”

Edan Alexander Returns Home

This week, Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old American citizen held hostage by the
terrorist group Hamas for nearly 600 days since his capture during the October
7th attacks, was finally released and united with his family. Edan never gave
up hope while being held hostage and his brave example is a testament to the
American spirit of resilience in times of unimaginable danger.

Elise stated –

“For 18 long months, Yael and Adi Alexander endured unimaginable pain waiting
for their son Edan to come home. Today, I join every American in celebrating
their long-overdue reunion.

Edan, an American from New Jersey, spent nearly 600 days held hostage in
Hamas terror tunnels—enduring psychological torment, isolation, and constant
fear. It brings immense relief and joy to see him finally back in the arms of
his family.

I want to thank President Trump and his administration for their tireless
efforts to bring home every American held hostage abroad. Their unwavering
commitment to our citizens is a testament to true American leadership.”

Elise’s Bill Renaming Historic Site to “Saratoga National Battlefield Park”
Passes House

This week, Elise’s Strengthening America’s Turning Point Act passed in the
House of Representatives. This legislation would officially redesignate
Saratoga National Historical Park as Saratoga National Battlefield Park,
restoring the name originally given to this Revolutionary War site and
reaffirming its pivotal role in American history.

Elise Stefanik stated –

“BIG NEWS for Saratoga & American History! I successfully championed a bill
through the House to rename Saratoga National Historical Park to Saratoga
National Battlefield Park!

Why does this matter to our community? Because this battlefield — right here
in our own backyard — marks the site where history changed forever. The Battles
of Saratoga were the turning point in the American Revolution, where a British
army surrendered for the first time. It's more than a park — it's a symbol of
resilience, sacrifice, and the roots of our independence.

With overwhelming local support and a unanimous push from the Saratoga County
Board of Supervisors, this redesignation restores the historical identity of
this sacred ground as we approach the 250th anniversary of the battles that
helped forge our nation.”

Elise Hosts America250 at Fort Ticonderoga

Last weekend, Elise invited America250 to the 250th anniversary celebration of
the Battle for Fort Ticonderoga. The historic Revolutionary War battle was a
turning point for the American forces, and remains one of the proudest
historical sites in all of New York State. Elise worked successfully to obtain
funds to preserve Fort Ticonderoga, and she will continue to ensure that the
site is taken care of for generations to come.

Elise stated –

“At my invitation, America250 came to Fort Ticonderoga in New York's 21st
Congressional District to honor the legacy of America’s first victory in the
Revolutionary War.

The triumph over King George III and his British redcoats boosted the
American Patriot’s morale to continue the fight against tyranny, an idea that
continues to live in the hearts of all Americans today.

Throughout my time in Congress, I have worked to provide over $2.5 million in
funds for Fort Ticonderoga. In 2024, I was proud to provide $750,000 for its
wall reconstruction, a significant investment in preserving our nation’s
history."

Elise Attends Albany County GOP ‘Spring Fling’

Last weekend, Elise attended the Albany County GOP’s annual “Spring Fling”
picnic held in Bethlehem. Elise rallied supporters for her mission to save New
York from Governor Kathy Hochul’s failed leadership, that has left New Yorkers
with unsafe streets and less money in their pockets.

Elise stated –

“An incredible high energy event to support the Albany County GOP at the Elm
Avenue Town Park in Bethlehem! Thank you for the warm and enthusiastic welcome
and I am honored to help support our hardworking local and county candidates
across our great state as we SAVE NEW YORK!”

Assemblyman Chris Tague stated –

“Albany County GOP showed up BIG TIME for Elise Stefanik yesterday at their
Republican Spring Fling Picnic in Bethlehem! From now, until the local
elections in November and forward to 2026, it is all gas and no breaks. The
only way we save New York and elect a governor like Elise Stefanik.”

WATCH: Elise with Mark Levin on Fox News

Elise joined Mark Levin on his show “Life, Liberty & Levin” to discuss her
continued fight against antisemitism in higher education nationwide and what
it's going to take to prevent the next generation of Marxists from dominating
our classrooms with foreign dollars.

Elise stated –

“We're working hand in glove in ensuring these universities don't feel
entitled to US taxpayer dollars because they're not law. If they're not
protecting the civil rights of Jewish students on campus, they're not entitled
to those dollars. In addition, we are increasing the accountability for foreign
dollars flowing into US universities. And you nailed it on the head. There are
foreign dollars who are propping up these pro Hamas agitators and encampments.
There are foreign dollars flowing in from communist China that are funding
Confucius Institutes. We are taking action after action to hold them
accountable.”

ELISE OP-ED: Educational Freedom is the Key to Our Children’s Future

Elise penned a Newsweek opinion piece this week on why the children of America
deserve the best quality education possible and laid out her legislative plan
on how to get it done with the Educational Choice for Children Act.

Elise stated –

“Like nearly all parents across New York state, I am deeply concerned about
our failing education system and schools. That's why I'm proud to help lead the
Educational Choice for Children Act, legislation that would expand school
choice and provide high quality educational opportunities for students trapped
in failing school systems.

At the heart of this initiative is the belief that every child, regardless of
income or background, deserves access to a high-quality education. The
Educational Choice for Children Act incentivizes charitable donations to fund
scholarships for K-12 students, empowering families to choose the school—public
or private—that best fits their child's needs.

Whether that means enrolling in a charter school, moving to a different
public school, or finding a specialized private option, this is about putting
power in the hands of parents.”

ELISE OP-ED – National Police Week: A Tribute to Our Law Enforcement Heroes

This National Police Week, we pause to honor the men and women who put their
lives on the line every day to protect our communities.

Elise penned an op-ed in RealClear Politics to highlight the sacrifices our
men and women in blue make when they put on their uniform every day. It is an
important moment to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness that
law enforcement officers demonstrate daily, particularly in Upstate New York
and across our great state.

Elise stated –

“Happy National Police Week to all our law enforcement officers all across New
York and our nation who serve with courage, dignity, and unwavering commitment!

Your daily sacrifices—facing danger, protecting our communities, and
upholding justice—don’t go unnoticed.

We honor your service, remember those who gave their lives, and stand
grateful for the thin blue line keeping us safe. New York’s 21st District and
hardworking families all across Upstate New York will ALWAYS back the blue.
Thank you!”
