Hey, True Texans!

Chances are, if you've been watching the legislative session, you're feeling the darkness that pervades our state.  I know there is nothing new under the sun, and politicians have always been basically evil, selfish people, but seeing it up close and personal is always a punch to the gut.  I don't care how many times I witness their dirty deeds, they always disturb me.  Honestly, I hope I never lose that sensitivity because I never want to become numb to the darkness we are fighting daily.  I want to always feel outraged by injustice and irritated by arrogance and emboldened by those who would defy the One True God, which ultimately is what politicians do.  They think they get away with their wicked misdeeds, but like it or not, they will bow to the One who sees, and they will be held accountable.

For example, this week Rep Gary VanDeaver killed the bill that my daughter needs in order to go to college and pursue her dreams.  My daughter has a mutated gene and cannot receive any vaccinations, yet she wants to be a paramedic.  In Texas, all medical students must have 11 shots.  Those shots have a 50/50 chance of killing her.  We hoped the legislature would see the need for a waiver, and indeed, the Senate did, and they passed the bill on to the House quickly. That's when VanDeaver held in his slimy little hands all the power over my daughter's future.  He actually talked to my teen on the phone and promised her a hearing.  Never happened.  Instead of fulfilling that promise, he sent condescending messages telling us that State Health Services assured him no waivers are needed and she can get into school without issue.  Interesting.  Then why has no student been able to get a waiver for the past 10 years, and why has every school my daughter has applied to told her the same thing: vaxes are required?  We tried to tell VanDeaver's office all this, but he insisted we are wrong and even went so far as to tell us we were wasting precious time that the House needed to spend on necessary legislation!  If you've been following events in the House, you know they've done nothing but take long weekends, spend ridiculous amounts of time chubbing, and give more attention to Democrats' bills than Republicans!  Grrrr...

So this is what I was facing when my friend Cory texted me this:
It's 15 minutes of Scripture compiled and read word-for-word all about being conquerors and how powerful our God is.  It is exactly what I needed.  In fact, I listen to it every day now, and I will continue to do so until I have the whole thing memorized.  Each day when I'm done, I am ready for battle and feeling invincible.  Why?  Because my God will not be mocked, and He does not abandon His own.  When He comes through for us, it brings Him the glory He deserves, and we WILL watch Him prevail.  Gary VanDeaver, in all his arrogance, cannot stand before a Holy God, and maybe it's sinful for me to delight in that, but I long for the day he and others like him in the Texas House are put in their place and humbled before the Almighty.  They have been entrusted with caring for something precious - our freedom - and they are failing miserably for the sake of their OWN name and power and prosperity. Big mistake.

All that being said, I do not despair.  God has a plan for my daughter.  He has a plan for Texas. He will bring them both to fruition. I'm honored He chooses to use True Texas Project to accomplish any of His will, and I am more committed than ever to serving Him to the best of my ability as I lead our humble organization.

If you'd like to help us continue to build our influence and fight these yahoos, please consider donating.  We urgently need the help, and I'm confident I will see God work in this area as well.  The question becomes, will He accomplish this through you?
