![]() In last year’s election, Republicans told us time and time again they would protect our priceless public lands. They lied, John. Earlier this month, the Republican-controlled House Natural Resources Committee offered a HUGE giveaway to developers and mining companies by passing a bill to sell off or transfer approximately 460,000 acres of public land across the country. Let us be direct for a moment, John: This bill represents the single largest attack on public lands in American history. It would give billionaires and big corporations free rein to drill, mine, and pollute public lands with little oversight or accountability. It’s a huge win for giant corporate polluters, and a devastating loss for everyone else. While Republicans are hell-bent on extracting our state’s natural beauty to pad the bottom lines of big corporations, Montana Democrats understand that public lands belong in public hands. Not big oil. Not giant mining companies. Not billionaires so they can play cowboy.
Thank you, Montana Democrats |
