Friend, the first time I took an oath to defend our Constitution, I was just a teenager. When I was growing up, my grandfather, Bill, who flew B-24s in World War II, told me stories about the missions he flew over occupied France. It inspired me to serve my country and fly, just like him. I joined the Navy, where I became a helicopter pilot and learned what it meant to lead under pressure and take challenges head on. I also learned just what it means to take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Every day, I see Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress disregard the oaths they took. And we know that if we let Republicans flip the governor’s office here in New Jersey, our state will be led by a MAGA rubber stamper like Jack Ciattarelli who won’t just turn a blind eye to Trump’s abuses of power — but who has promised to bring Trump’s agenda directly to our state. I love our country and our state too much to sit silently and let that happen. So I can promise you this: I’m going to bring the same grit and determination I’ve brought to serving as a Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, and Russian policy officer — not to mention, as a mom to four amazing kids — to this fight to deliver a brighter future for New Jersey. I will be a governor who doesn’t shy away from taking on tough fights — and wins them. And I will always put my oath to defend our Constitution before anything else.
Thank you, Mikie |
