Honoring Our Law Enforcement Heroes

This week, I proudly celebrated National Police Week to salute all of our men and women in law enforcement across the country who risk their lives to keep our communities safe. We all owe a deep debt of gratitude to them for the sacrifices they make.

To show my support, I proudly voted for a number of bills to give better protections to our men and women in law enforcement this week, and remind those brave heroes that we have their back. I'm alive today because of the heroic actions of law enforcement officers, and I'm always going to pay tribute to the great heroism of what law enforcement represents.

Preserving Trump's Tax Cuts Will Help Struggling Families

House Republicans are working to deliver on President Trump’s mandate and pass the One, Big Beautiful Bill. This legislation will make the 2017 tax cuts permanent, secure our border, root out waste, fraud and abuse in government programs, and make American energy dominant again.

We are working to get our economy moving again, to create jobs, and to put more money in the paychecks of workers because families are relying on us to get this done.

Speaking with State Legislators

Earlier this week, I spoke at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge to share important updates on my work in Washington with our state legislators and to applaud Governor Landry’s great work to bring major economic development investments to our state.

Importantly, I shared that my language to increase the current cap of GOMESA funding that goes to the states is included in the reconciliation bill moving through Congress. I emphasized that we must continue to invest in flood control, coastal restoration, and hurricane protection projects using GOMESA dollars from offshore energy exploration and production to not only restore our coast - our first line of defense against future storms - but to better prepare our communities and protect the lives and livelihoods of families in Southeast Louisiana.

Meeting with Louisiana's Maritime Leaders

From the Mississippi River down to Port Fourchon, the maritime industry in Southeast Louisiana builds ships to protect our men and women in uniform, moves essential goods and supports offshore energy exploration and production to meet the needs of our entire nation and allies abroad.

Recently, I convened a roundtable meeting of dozens of our local maritime industry leaders to discuss issues including U.S. shipbuilding, waterway infrastructure, regulatory relief, and preservation of the Jones Act.
