Happy Armed Forces Day: Let’s Show Our Deployed Heroes They’re Not Forgotten

Today, on Armed Forces Day, we come together as a nation to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women currently serving in every branch of our military. From the frontlines to behind-the-scenes operations, their selfless dedication ensures our freedom and safety every day. It's a time to say thank you—to call a friend in uniform, share a proud photo, or post a tribute online. It’s a day to reflect, to honor, and to show gratitude.

But this year, our appreciation can’t stop at words alone. Behind today’s patriotic celebrations lies a sobering reality: Over 500 deployed Service Members are currently waiting—right now—to be supported through Soldiers’ Angels. These men and women are far from home, in unfamiliar places, making daily sacrifices—and too many of them are doing it without the comfort of knowing someone back home has their six.

Will you be the reason a deployed hero smiles today?

Supporting a Service Member is simple but deeply meaningful. When you “adopt” a Service Member, you commit to supporting them throughout their deployment by sending:

📦 1 care package per month

💌 2 letters each month

That’s it. Yet that small act of kindness has a massive impact—reminding our Service Members that they are not alone, not forgotten, and still deeply appreciated by the country they serve.

But that’s not all.

If a long-term commitment doesn’t fit your schedule, there are still powerful ways you can lift a Service Member’s spirits. From sending one-time care packages or homemade baked goods to writing a heartfelt letter or card, even the smallest gesture can deliver a massive morale boost. Every act of support reminds our Service Members that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

Today, let’s go beyond celebration. Let’s take action.

Celebrating All Who Serve—Human and Animal

May is Military Appreciation Month, and we’re honoring military heroes of all kinds—including one very special feathered friend from history.

Meet Cher Ami, the carrier pigeon who saved nearly 200 American soldiers during WWI. Her story is one of bravery, endurance, and a powerful reminder that courage can come from the most unlikely places.
