The 2025 legislative session is officially over, John! It was a busy and productive one: Alabama Arise staff, partners and members like you worked hard all year to improve the lives of folks living paycheck to paycheck while also protecting the rights of Alabamians under attack by people with regressive policy agendas.

Make groceries more affordable for all Alabamians by reducing the state grocery tax (again)!
Feed hungry kids with the first-ever state appropriation to expand no-cost school breakfasts and continued funding for Summer EBT benefits.
Improve maternal health by removing red tape around Medicaid’s “presumptive eligibility” rule.
Help working parents by securing paid parental leave for teachers, two-year college staff and state employees.
Decrease the cost of living for families by ending the state sales tax on essential items like diapers, baby supplies, menstrual hygiene products and maternity clothing.
