On Tuesday, I was proud to join 1800 Iowans at Secretary Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s town hall with Vote Vets in Cedar Rapids.

A lot of inspiring conversations took place between Pete and the Iowans in attendance, but there’s one quote from Mayor Pete that really resonated with me:

“What makes America great is its ability to wrestle with its darkest demons and come out stronger and better for it.” — Pete Buttigieg

During this dark period in our country, many Iowans are looking for hope. They want to see Democrats fighting back, and be reassured that if we step up now, there will be hope for the future.

The Iowa Democratic Party is working nonstop to give Iowans that hope.

We’re organizing across the state to turn out Democratic voters, holding Republicans accountable through earned media and organic content, and providing the best data and tools to county parties, volunteers, and candidates to fight back.

My focus is to help Iowa Democrats win up and down the ballot in 2026. If we can pull that off, we will come out on the other side more hopeful than ever.
