Fixing the Border Crisis Didn't Take New Laws; It Took New Leadership

I’ve worked on border issues for 25 years — first as a federal prosecutor and later as chairman of the Homeland Security Committee — and I can safely say I’ve never seen the border as broken and chaotic as it was under President Biden’s leadership. Under the Biden/Harris administration, the federal government abdicated its duty to protect the homeland. And Texans bore the brunt of that abject failure.

The good news is: I’ve also never seen any administration secure the border and restore order as quickly and efficiently as the Trump administration has done so. It didn't take new laws, as Democrats repeatedly claimed last year; it just took new leadership.

At this week's Homeland Security Committee hearing, we heard from President Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, about the great work her department has done to secure the border.

In my exchange with Secretary Noem, I contrasted the Biden administration's total failure with the Trump administration's astounding success. And I asked her about the importance of passing House Republicans' reconciliation bill, which contains $70 billion to further fund the President's border security agenda.

A Great Week With the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce

I was thrilled to have the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce up in Washington this week! Each year, I look forward to the chamber's visit, which provides a chance for me to share updates on my work here in Congress and — most importantly — hear about issues that matter to the B/CS community.

I joined KBTX News to discuss the chamber's visit and the important work I'm doing on behalf of Brazos County and Texas A&M.

ICYMI: McCaul on Face the Nation

This week, President Trump visited several of our allies and partners across the Middle East, securing massive economic deals that will strengthen our nations' economies, push China out of the region, and promote peace across the Middle East.

I joined "Face the Nation" live from Austin on Sunday to preview the President's trip to the Middle East and share my thoughts on his foreign policy achievements.
