Our public lands are under attack, John.
Donald Trump has ordered the U.S. to “drill baby drill” on public lands
and fast-tracked new oil and gas drilling projects.
Now, his allies in Congress are pushing to include drilling in Alaska’s
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the government funding bill.
All of this adds up to a massive public lands giveaway to the fossil fuel
industry. We can’t let Big Oil wreck our national landmarks for profit —
and we need to alert everyone who cares about our lands.

Trump is drumming up a fake “national energy emergency” to justify
auctioning off our public lands for oil and gas drilling.^1 He’s also
using this so-called “emergency” to justify fast-tracking new oil and gas
projects by cutting environmental review out of the process.
His latest orders wouldn’t even allow community members to make their
voices heard before a pipeline is built in their backyard.^2
John, we know the truth. There is no energy emergency — there
is only the climate emergency.
Communities across the country have experienced wildfires, hurricanes,
heat waves, and floods. And the Black, Brown and Native communities that
are hardest hit by these climate disasters are also the ones that are the
most likely to have a pipeline rammed across their land or an oil refinery
pump pollution into their air.
The last thing we need is to throw more fossil fuels on the fire. We
cannot sacrifice our public lands in the name of profit. We cannot afford
to unleash millions more tons of planet-warming pollution.
