Dear Friend,
The grizzly bear and other endangered and threatened species are under attack from the Trump administration.
The Trump administration is working to weaken the bedrock environmental law that protects all endangered species -- the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
Today is Endangered Species Day. Please join our fight to protect grizzly bears and all endangered wildlife and your gift will be matched $2:$1.

In 2024, more grizzlies were killed by humans than in any other year in the past half-century.
Knowing this, the Department of the Interior is still considering a proposed rule that would lead to even more grizzly bear deaths and threaten their full recovery.
In addition to this proposal, the Trump administration is aiming to weaken the ESA by rescinding the decades-old definition of “harm” to endangered species. Even though the ESA prohibits habitat destruction that kills or injures wildlife, the proposed rollback of the rule that defines “harm” in this way makes this much clear: the service does not plan on lawfully enforcing the ESA to stop habitat destruction.
This administration is also planning to expedite logging and mining. At the same time, it would reduce or even waive Endangered Species Act considerations for these same projects. This could allow extractive industries to destroy the habitats where protected species like grizzly bears live.
Each of these actions threatens substantial harm to grizzly bears by eliminating, bypassing, or steamrolling over habitat protections long guaranteed under the ESA.
Earthjustice has spent decades fighting on behalf of threated species and habitats. With the renewed attacks and increased threats, we are doubling down, and we need your support.
Please consider making a gift in honor of Endangered Species Day to help us protect the grizzly bear and other critical fights.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership in these fights.
