Dear John,
During this especially tough legislative session, it's more important than ever to celebrate good news, so here it is: In the May 3 elections, voters like you decisively rejected far-right extremism in local school board elections! [[link removed]] 🎉
Over the past few years, insidious far-right interest groups like Moms for Liberty and Patriot Mobile Action PAC have been inserting extremist candidates into local school board elections. After winning their seats, they used their power to ban books, target LGBTQIA+ kids, and censor what students learn.
But together, we turned the tide: [[link removed]]
* Five of our six TFN-endorsed school board candidates won their seats
* Keller ISD cleaned house, electing TFN-endorsed candidate Randy Campbell and rejecting every single candidate that Patriot Mobile Action backed
* Similar shake-ups happened in Mansfield, Grapevine-Colleyville, Fort Bend, and numerous other ISDs across the state
These election results bring much-needed hope as we continue a legislative session filled with attacks on public education, the freedom to read, and our most vulnerable communities.
The fight is far from over, but voters are signaling that they're ready to free Texas from the grip of the religious right. Are you with us, John? [[link removed]]
Help move the fight forward ✊ [[link removed]]
Your support will ensure we can keep the momentum going in our communities and at the Capitol.
In solidarity,
