For [Mental Health Awareness Month]([link removed]), the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is highlighting the transformative power of [resilience]([link removed]) –– an ability we all have deeply rooted within us. One important form of resilience is asking for help, and accepting support. For our Million in May campaign, we’re doing just that.
 
This month, we’re asking you to give a gift of $135, in honor of the 135 people estimated to be impacted by each individual suicide death. And thanks to funds from dedicated AFSP volunteer and generous donor Dr. Kelly Posner Gerstenhaber, Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, who was awarded The Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service for her work leading to suicide reduction across the nation, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000 for all donations made now through May 31.
