It’s been a busy week here at CREW, because to be honest, I’m not sure we’ve ever seen corruption in this country quite so bad or so blatant as two of President Trump’s latest schemes: his memecoin dinner and his plan to accept a $400 million jet from Qatar.

[link removed] [[link removed]]Last weekend, the Qatari government offered a $400 million Boeing 747 airplane as a gift to Donald Trump, to be used as Air Force One during his presidency, and then given to his presidential library.

Now Donald Trump is planning to accept the gift, and saying you would have to be “stupid” to turn down such an expensive gift.

Nothing is shocking from this president at this point, but this takes the brazenness of his corruption to whole new levels. Let me be clear, John: we all need to be outraged.

This is the biggest ever gift from a foreign country to an American president, a potential violation of the Foreign Emoluments Clause of the Constitution and, if nothing else, blatantly unethical. It’s so bad that we are now even seeing some Republican members of Congress calling him out for it — as they should be.

In the past month, the Trump Organization announced a new development in Qatar, Trump flew to Qatar, and now the government of Qatar is trying to gift Donald Trump an airplane. At this point, we need to ask:

What does Qatar get out of this deal? And what is Donald Trump willing to give them?

And John, this isn’t even the only ongoing ethics emergency in the Trump White House. I also appeared on NPR’s 1A [[link removed]] this week to discuss the problems with Donald Trump’s memecoin promotional scheme.

In case you haven’t heard about that yet, let me break it down for you: Trump is offering a dinner and even tours of the White House with him to the top buyers of his “meme coin” — something that has no inherent value outside of gambling on his political fortunes or signalling loyalty to Trump – and he profits from every sale.

It’s a cash-for-access scheme that’s literally putting money in the president’s pocket. In fact, trading fees alone from the coin have already made the Trump family more than $300 million .

And now, new reporting has shown that the majority of the top investors in his meme coin appear to be foreign, and some of them are even foreign business owners who openly state that they hope to use their meeting with Trump to gain his favor.

John, Trump is the most corrupt president in American history. He makes Richard Nixon look almost ethical by comparison. And it’s clear that, unless someone steps in to stop him, he’ll keep profiting from the presidency.
