As Valerie’s campaign manager, I hate to share that we *just* fell short of our mid-quarter fundraising goal last night. Before I explain how we can go forward from here, will you chip in $10 or any amount to help us make up that gap and give us a head start on the next fundraising deadline?

I’m not going to tell you that the sky is falling because we missed one fundraising goal — I know that we can bounce back. But here’s the truth on where we stand currently:

• The good news is that grassroots supporters are continuing to chip in to Valerie’s campaign at a steady rate and last night might have just been an outlier.
• The bad news is we can’t afford to miss any more fundraising goals, especially with national Republicans eyeing North Carolina and looking for any weaknesses in Democratic fundraising.
