This could be the tipping-point race that determines who controls the U.S. Senate after 2020 — Mitch McConnell or pro-choice Democrats. And Susan Collins' approval ratings have been in steep decline since she cast the deciding vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh.

Defeating Susan Collins and flipping the Senate starts by electing a true pro-choice champion like Sara Gideon, who — as Maine House Speaker — helped to pass critical legislation to remove coverage bans and restrictions that make accessing abortion care more difficult. She has earned NARAL's endorsement and is exactly the leader Mainers deserve to have fighting for them in the Senate.
With Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, Sen. Collins voted to change the rules of the Senate to ram through the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, and then cast the deciding vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Court.
And rather than admitting error, she's doubling down on her votes.

When Kavanaugh cast his first vote to limit abortion access, Collins ran to the cameras to defend him.2 She continues to say that she "does not regret in the least" her vote, even as Kavanaugh has proven himself to be a threat to the rights of women and the LGBTQ+ community.3,4
Collins has also voted to push through more than 30 of Trump's anti-choice federal judges who have already made names for themselves by upholding abortion bans and clinic-shutdown laws across the country.5 Most recently, Collins shrugged off any pretense of supporting reproductive freedom when she attended a fundraiser held by one of the most anti-choice groups in existence.6
Sara Gideon is the pro-choice champion we need to replace Susan Collins in 2020, and now we know that we're in sight of winning that seat for the people of Maine — the majority of whom support reproductive freedom. But we can't let up, even for a moment.
