Hi John. I hope you and your family are well.
I know the chaos in Washington, D.C. is frustrating many Kansans these days. But despite all the noise, I'm committed as ever to moving forward.
Both parties are responsible for making our democracy work. So I still believe it's important to remain professional, model good behavior, and find common ground whenever I can.
Here's a quick update on how I'm continuing to make a difference.
Serving All Kansans

I recently participated in a town hall. I was honored to meet with hundreds of Kansans and answer your questions. You can watch it online if you couldn't make it, and you can always contact me to ask a question.
My job is to serve every person and corner of our community, regardless of party. Whether we agree on each issue or not is beside the point.
Everyone deserves a government that works for them – not for special interests, big corporations, or the extremes of either party.
• Helping You. My team is continuing to host . This is your chance to get help with stalled passports, Social Security issues, backlogged veterans' benefits, and more in your own neighborhood. You can also contact us to get help right away.
• Listening to You. If you haven't already, please take my survey to share your top priorities with me. Listening to you always helps me do a better job and informs my decision making.
Building an Economy that Works for Everyone
I visited Phelon Farms in Garnett last week as part of my ongoing Farm Bill Listening Tour. Farmers, ranchers, and producers are the backbone of our economy. I'm pushing for bipartisan legislation to help Kansas producers grow and deliver food more cheaply.
My mom raised my brothers and me on her own. She served in the Army and the Postal Service. We didn't have much, but we worked hard. So I later worked my way through college and I'm still paying off my student loans.
I understand that Kansans are concerned about higher prices and economic uncertainty.
• Strengthening Kansas Manufacturers. I'm pleased to share that I recently helped protect the Manufacturing Extension Partnership from devastating cuts this year.
This initiative created or saved more than 108,000 manufacturing jobs at small and mid-sized businesses in 2024 alone, including right here in Kansas. Unfortunately, the administration inexplicably pushed to cut this program. I'm now pushing for a long-term fix so it'll no longer be vulnerable to partisan politics.
• Lowering Gas Prices. I'm pleased to report that the EPA responded to my call to allow the sale of fuel blended with more ethanol. Made from locally grown crops, ethanol is a more affordable alternative to unblended gasoline. This is about supporting Kansas agriculture and lowering costs for Kansans at the gas pump.
Protecting Kansas Families

This week I'm proud to help celebrate National Police Week and the brave officers who keep Kansans safe. No one should fear walking home at night or dropping their kids off at school.
I've made it a priority to ensure Kansas is always a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. That's why I'm partnering with local police departments to stop criminals and to prevent crime in the first place.
My focus is on concrete and bipartisan solutions to protect Kansans.
• Combating Fentanyl. I recently joined with local school officials and law enforcement officers to address the ongoing threat of fentanyl.
Overdose deaths thankfully dropped last year, but there's still much more to do. That's why I helped secure nearly $16 million for regional law enforcement to help seize illegal drugs like fentanyl.
• Protecting Kansas Families. My office is also always here to help however we can. That's why I also directed my team to update my Public Safety resources web page. You can use this page to find local law enforcement contacts, mental health resources, or even information on free services like child safety seat installations.
It's an honor to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives. If you have any questions, please always feel free to contact me.
My warmest regards,
Sharice L. Davids Member of Congress
