Climate Justice

As a single mother, I’ve had to be both parents for most of my child’s life. Though he’s a middle schooler now, I still often wish I had a co-parent, someone I could call for backup, especially when my son is sick or there’s a school performance or assembly, which always seem to be in the middle of the work day.

In this week’s Climate Justice newsletter, we’re sharing stories of backup, of stepping up and filling in. First, when homes don’t have adequate insurance, entire communities suffer. Can community-based insurance fill the gaps? Next, a group of government workers who were either fired or fear losing their jobs under the Trump administration spoke to NPQ about the cuts as part of a larger issue: anti-intellectualism and science denial. Then, an unlikely group is introducing their large audiences to the work of climate justice. Social media influencers have joined the fight.

Finally, on May 27 at 2:00 pm ET, join us for our premium webinar: “Ask the Nonprofit Lawyer.” Understanding your legal rights and risks is foundational to nonprofit survival at this time of heightened scrutiny and threats. But legal support can be expensive to find and retain. That’s why NPQ is bringing you one of the country’s most experienced nonprofit attorneys, Jeffrey Tenenbaum of Tenenbaum Law Group, based in Washington, DC, to answer your questions on timely legal and compliance questions facing staff leaders and boards of directors. Early bird registration ends May 23.
