This Sunday marks the 60th anniversary of Head Start. It continues to make America proud, having served nearly 40 million children and their families. To honor this weekend's anniversary, I spoke from the floor of the United States House of Representatives. You can view my remarks here or click on the image below.

I'm proud to serve with several Head Start alumni in Congress, including Georgia's very own Senator Raphael Warnock, and I will continue to speak up in defense of this vital program for our children and for our families.

This week, we recognized National Police Week and extended our gratitude to the brave men and women who keep our nation safe. I spoke on the House floor in favor of legislation to improve officer safety and well-being. Officer suicides outnumber line-of-duty deaths, but stigma and lack of resources prevent many from seeking help. Before heading back to Washington this week, I welcomed advocates and leaders to my district office to discuss all the ways in which they are serving the people of our community. It was my honor to meet with CobbWorks (pictured below), the Georgia Municipal Association, and Mableton Mayor Michael Owens. I value the time I get to spend with constituents here at home—your voices and your perspectives matter such a great deal to me as I continue to represent your priorities in Washington.
