We just got another big win in court against DOGE.

The so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” is controlling major government functions with no oversight or meaningful transparency into its operations. That’s illegal.

Our suspicion is that the Trump administration would prefer to carry out their plans in secret because they know the public doesn't support DOGE’s extreme tactics and elimination of many key government services.

We are not going to let them get away with it.

* In February, we sued to force DOGE to keep records and comply with records requests.
* In March, the court ruled that we were right: DOGE needs to turn over records in response to our requests.
* In April, the court granted us discovery, including sworn answers to written questions, documents and depositions of DOGE and Acting Administrator Amy Gleason.

Of course, the Trump administration has been doing all it can to try to avoid these basic transparency requirements and objecting to our wins at every stage.

Today, we defeated the government’s effort to toss out the discovery order: The DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously—with judges appointed by both Democrats and Republicans—that DOGE must submit to discovery.

Barring a successful appeal to the Supreme Court by the Trump administration, we’ll get important information about how DOGE is operating. And you can bet we’ll keep fighting for transparency at any level and for as long as it takes.
