These unregulated machines offer no fraud protection, making stolen funds nearly impossible to recover. *Scammers impersonate government agencies via calls, texts, or emails to steal personal info or money. Don’t click links, open attachments, or respond. Government agencies won’t request personal info or payment via gift cards, wire transfer, cryptocurrency, or a payment app. Block, report, and delete suspicious messages to stay safe.

*Scammers exploit people's anxiety and sense of urgency after disasters with imposter schemes, suspicious repair promises and by price gouging. Always verify credentials, get written contracts, and research charities before donating. FEMA never charges fees or solicits payments.
