Economic Democracy Weekly

In today’s Economic Democracy Weekly, we offer a number of articles that address how to build greater long-term economic justice and economic democracy. First, an Economy Remix article offers a broad view of challenges facing economic justice advocates as longstanding policy frameworks crumble—and how to develop strong positive alternatives in the face of rising authoritarianism. Next, Katie Kirchner from the Roosevelt Institute offers her take on the role of institutions in long-term youth organizing and power building. That’s followed by an article by two leading employee-ownership advocates—Julie Menter and Alison Lingane—on how to change the economy by making employee ownership a default way of organizing business. Lastly, from Oregon, a writer from the organization Adelante Mujeres (which means “Forward, Women”) shares stories of how Latine immigrants are building our economic future at the local level.
