This week, Senate Republicans advanced a bill that would send our taxpayer dollars to private schools — pulling desperately needed funding from our public classrooms.

They call it the Pennsylvania Award for Student Success Scholarship Program or PASS Scholarship Program, but it’s a school voucher scheme, plain and simple. And it’s part of a broader agenda to defund, destabilize, and ultimately destroy public education in Pennsylvania.

As the Democratic Chair of the Senate Education Committee, I voted NO.
